I am aware that we are housing a few people who are wanted by the current government for any manner of reasons. As I'm not acquainted with any of these individuals, I am not sure exactly where their allegiances lie outside of looking to us to habour them.

Given that, I was curious if we had asked them if they hold any interest in joining us, in whatever manner they could be of use in. While their status as known fugitives will make it a bit more difficult for them to do certain missions, there may not be any harm in offering.

Curses, and it from the way it's written it seems that this excuse for an educator will be abandoning tradition teaching procedures of different years learning different topics to simply indulge his own whims. Not that anyone doubted that this would happen, but my son is in that class.

If I so much as hear a hint of him using a curse or hex towards my son I

Something is going to have to be done. We need to do something.

We have had at least some time to try and settle into the idea of the dead coming back. Though no more highly publicized cases have reached my ears, I do not think this phenomena is halting.

But we do need to focus on the fact that Hogwarts is no longer a safe haven and is completely infiltrated by Death Eaters. We have some allies still there, such as Minerva, but we should likely have a meeting to discuss what we plan to do about this and also other matters, such as the ministries changing legislation.

I offer my home for a meeting place. I can give directions and access to anyone who does not already have it and who has not already been there. Would a certain time be best for everyone?

There is something to be said about work. A place to go every day to accomplish something. Without that life can end up being directionless. Plus I can only imagine who is in charge of the morgue now. While there is a gap in my memory, I don't recall any of those under my tutelage who would have been able to handle the department. Though it would seem the administration has at least developed a bit of a backbone in regards to certain pushes by the government. Which is admirable. I do wonder if I could manage to get back into the morgue...

I have started piecing together the missing years. It is not as if my memory has started returning, but meticulous record keeping had an unexpected benefit. Gabriel's owls have filled me in as well, though I'm unsure as to how safe it is for him to continue correspondence.

It may be unwise to contact those in charge of the morgue right now, but there is valuable information there. Hopefully it is someone that I grew to trust, though I'm not quite sure who that would be. But if there is any increase in suspicious deaths, especially how those deaths are presenting in autopsy, it could lend itself to who is more administrative from the old death eaters and who is more active in murder and fear mongering.

Gabriel's at school now. My father visited after seeing him off to the train, since I should hardly make myself present at a place where the new ministry is likely lurking. I've never seen my boy to the train. Least not that I can remember Those people are in charge of my son. If they harm him.

    [Private to Order]

Given the announcements that seem almost popping up weekly of new staff appointments, I cannot help but be perturbed. We have a few professors left that are certainly on our side, but keeping up appearances when students are being subjected to lunatics is going to put them in a tough situation. We have no idea how able they will be to protect the students there without causing risk to themselves and the students.

I'm not sure if there is anything possible, but perhaps we could brainstorm a bit about trying to help the students, at least in some way, if we can spare the resources.

It is quite interesting to see the ministry multitasking. On one hand they have to deal with the ever present problem of the dead returning to a state of what resembles life, thus complicating property, benefits, and any number of problems. Given that the phenomena does not seem to have a stopping point, as the starting point has at the very least not been publicly determined, this would seem to be an issue that would be of utmost attention. While I’m certain given their current structure they will streamline any new laws dealing with this trend to their benefit, the fact remains that it is work that must happen and cannot overnight even with little attention paid to it.

However they still seem to find the ability to push forward legislation dealing with muggleborns and other groups within wizarding society. This splitting of resources seems to be illogical, given the much more important matter of those returned to semblance of life. But they cannot be deterred and seem to be going after such an archaic institution as marriage.

At first glance it would make sense with their ultimate goals of some sort of ‘purification’ of the gene pool. Yet history has made it abundantly clear that marriage laws have nothing to do with what sort of offspring is created. Often the creating of a taboo simply encourages the behavior because of the illicitness of it, or varying other reasons.

While I would hardly expect any sort of job dealing with government to be handled in a correct and logical manner by the administration that is currently in residence, simply given their own well known agendas having nothing to do with rationality, it would be interesting to see what they would attempt to accomplish should they actually have any sort of attention span.

It also does offer the curiosity, since they seem so interested in marriage as to pass legislation on it, what will they be doing with those who have come back? Is a marriage still legal should the deceased half come back to life? What if the partner that was still alive has remarried? I do wonder why they bother in the first place, but I often wondered that as a healer. Fathoming the human mind and its thought process never seems to lead to a clean conclusion.

Gabriel's so... big. Last I remember him I could hold him in my arms still. He's taller than me already.

Despite the popularity in the use of the word 'zombie' or 'inferi', neither seem to truly apply to the phenomena that is occurring now. As I understand, inferi and zombies are reanimated corpses. Which means those returning would be reanimated to their original body. This would mean that any states of decay would have already taken place previous to the use of the spell. However none of the subjects seem to be displaying any sort of decay, even early stages of it. There is also the matter of brain function to consider. Inferi and zombies have limited to no brain function, based on the spell performed on their remains. However those that are currently appearing seem to have all cognitive capabilities that they had while alive, at least from what I have observed.

Though I doubt it will stop most of those recording here from using the terms, it would seem that this is an entirely different matter.
